Often our data tells a compelling story, but our audience doesn't care. There are things you can do to change that, if you know where to look. I'll share a few practical tips we can all use to maximize the impact of their data stories, drawing on projects at The Washington Post Opinion, where I use data and visuals to make arguments and persuade readers.


About the Speaker:


Youyou Zhou is a journalist and data storyteller based in New York. Her work renders ideas in graphic forms. She has over a decade of experience in data and visual journalism and currently writes an occasional column at The Washington Post's Opinion desk on topics including immigration, AI, and shifting identities.


Youyou is deeply interested in citizenship and how people move around the globe. She also teaches, speaks and mentors others on data storytelling and visualization.
